Week 2 Recap: Bengals, Saints, Broncos score big wins on weird Sunday

About this episode

Need more proof that the NFL is a week-to-week league? Well, after tying the record for most points scored in Week 1 to kick off the season, scoring came all the way back down to earth in Week 2. The day was further dampened by injuries to Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels. Still, there were some big winners, across the league. Such as the Cincinnati Bengals, who rode their defense—yes, defense—to beat the Houston Texans. And how about the New Orleans Saints, who upset the Baltimore Ravens on the road. And then there's the Denver Broncos, who bounced back from an ugly Week 1 to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. Robert Mays, Derrik Klassen and Dave Helman recap Week 2 on this episode of The Athletic Football Show.

For more Athletic Football Show content:

- Join The Athletic Football Show Discord Server: http://discord.gg/theathleticfootballshow

- Follow The Athletic Football Show wherever you listen to podcasts: https://podfollow.com/the-athletic-football-show/view

- Twitter: https://x.com/TA_FootballShow

- IG: https://www.instagram.com/tafootballshow

- TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@tafootballshow

- Subscribe to The Athletic: https://theathletic.com/footballshow

Host: Robert Mays

Co-Hosts: Derrik Klassen and Dave Helman

Executive Producer: Michael Beller

Senior Producer: Katy Duffy

Social Producer: Scott Krinch

Follow Robert on Bluesky: @robertmays.bsky.social

Follow Derrik on Bluesky: @qbklass.bsky.social

Follow Dave on Bluesky: @davehelman.bsky.social

Follow Robert on X: @RobertMays

Follow Dave on X: @DaveHelman_

Theme song: Haunted

Written by Dylan Slocum, Trevor Dietrich, Ruben Duarte, Kyle McAulay, and Meredith VanWoert / Performed by Spanish Love Songs

Courtesy of Pure Noise / By arrangement with Bank Robber Music, LLC

Hosted on Acast.
