After leaving the Pentagon, he co-founded the <a href="https://www.loboinstitute.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lobo Institute</a>, became a Special Advisor to the United Nations, an ABC News National Security Analyst, and the co-president of <a href="https://endchildsoldiering.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">End Child Soldiering</a>.
