Richard Dawkins’ Perspective on Faith, Philosophy, and the Layers of Human Existence

About this episode

<p>Commonly known as the most famous atheist in the world, Richard Dawkins is a British evolutionary biologist, zoologist, and author of <em>The Selfish Gene </em>and <em>The God Delusion. </em>Today, Ryan asks Richard why he describes himself as a "cultural Christian", what the biggest misunderstandings of his work are, why individuals teeter between faith and reason, and his concept of humans as 'books of the dead,' a metaphor for the evolutionary history encoded in our genes. </p><p>Pre-order Richard's latest book <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Genetic-Book-Dead-Darwinian-Reverie/dp/0300278098/?_encoding=UTF8&amp;pd_rd_w=9NVtw&amp;content-id=amzn1.sym.f76d456a-cb0d-44de-b7b0-670c26ce80ba&amp;pf_rd_p=f76d456a-cb0d-44de-b7b0-670c26ce80ba&amp;pf_rd_r=135-0809130-3335759&amp;pd_rd_wg=TnEWi&amp;pd_rd_r=cc69e9c6-92d6-4d4a-b73f-9749d448ed5f&amp;ref_=aufs_ap_sc_dsk" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><em>The Genetic Book of the Dead</em></a> - out September 17, 2024. </p><p>Richard is heading out on his last tour!
