Episode 346: I Share Our Sixth Anniversary Thoughts and a Pizza Hut Encounter

Su questo episodio

We commemorate our sixth anniversary by returning to old‑school segments, and the principal story we examine is the Girl Scouts’ announcement that they will sell dog cookies and an allergy‑friendly cookie called Sparkables. I explain that this development reveals the organization’s sophisticated marketing and raises concern that new online‑only products may enrich corporate partners more than the local troops who sell cookies. We also catalogue other notable items: a Hungarian grave‑digging contest, Lime’s public advisory that e‑bikes are not for jousting, students building a robot that solves a 4×4×4 Rubik’s Cube in under ten seconds, and an estate‑sale discovery of live World War II grenades. I argue that these stories collectively illustrate tensions in contemporary life, including corporate monetization, technological risk, and shifting social norms across generations. We thank our audience for six years of support and invite them to join us live on Sundays at 9 p.m. Eastern or to listen to the podcast on major platforms.
