She is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion more than twenty years ago. </p> <p> </p> <p><a href="https://chrisgermer.com/" target="_blank" rel= "noopener noreferrer">Christopher Germer</a> is a clinical psychologist and lecturer on psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
