Greenock, a Scottish town to the west of Glasgow, is losing residents quickly. It’s in Inverclyde, the population of which has fallen by 22,000 people since 1981, making it Scotland's hardest-hit area for population decline. The issue has become so pressing that the council is implementing a repopulation strategy, part of which involves attracting migrants and people who have been granted refugee status.
