Kids Help Jelly Roll Write His Next Single

Welcome back. As most of y'all know, when I'm not busy hosting late-night shows or pissing off Fox News, I'm working on music. I've been writing songs my whole life, and I'm always

looking for inspiration. So, for my next single, I thought I'd get some songwriting help from the most inspiring people in the world, little So, y'all know what we're doing today? We are going to write a song.

>> Now, let me tell you something about songwriting. Most musicians take a performance enhancer before we write songs, something to kind of get us loose. So, I got Skittles and I got M&M's. Does anybody want to get all jacked up on sugar?

>> All right. Remember, kids, always take candy from >> Never. So, yeah, that was it. I got it backwards. Never take candy from strangers.

I would eat candy, but I have what they call an addiction to everything. If I eat this, I'll end up doing drugs later. Crazy, right? >> I can't do it.

All right. So, y'all know I'm Jelly Roll. >> Should I call you Mr. Roll? >> You can call me Mr.

I'll take that. We'll start by this. You know anything about a slide whistle? Anybody want a >> I'll take a harmonica. >> On the count of three, we're going to try to

make a song together, and we're just all going to play our instruments and see how it works out. Y'all ready? One, two, play. Whoa, whoa, whoa.

Stop, stop. Hold on, hold on, hold on. That was a terrible idea. That was I've never heard a slide whistle solo in a song.

When you look at me, what's the first word that comes to your mind? >> Dinosaurs. All right. All right, we're going to start with dinosaurs.

Who all has pets? >> I have 10 fish. I used to have 12 fish, but there's this grandpa in the fish. He ate his grandson and his other grandson.

>> The old man ate the grandchildren? Y'all want to do some rhymes like cat in the WAIT, WHAT DID HE SAY AGAIN? >> HE said rooster. I kind of walked right into that one, didn't I?

Oh, this is what I love about music. Music has no rules. I love breaking rules. That's how I ended up in a place called prison. >> Oh, you went to prison before?

>> I did. It's like a big time out for grown-ups. You ever been in time out? >> What'd you do? >> Punch my dad in the balls.

>> So, you punched your dad in THE BALLS? >> CATALINA, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN you grow up? >> Uh astronaut. >> You want to be an astronaut?
