A man suspected of carrying out a terror rampage at a Berlin Pride event has been shot dead by police. German police say officers fired at Abdul Ballout after he rushed towards them with a knife. They say he died at the scene. Prosecutors say that Ballout drove a van into a crowd and stabbed multiple people in an attack that left one woman dead and at least 29 injured. Ballout was a 21-year-old German citizen of Lebanese background who was known to police and is said to have tried to join the Islamic State group. Germany’s interior minister said that he could not rule out the possibility of copycat attacks and announced that the country's threat level was being raised.
