Kalaripayattu is often viewed simply as an ancient martial art, but its significance extends far beyond combat. This talk explores Kalaripayattu as a living expression of Kerala’s cultural heritage—one that brings together movement, discipline, awareness, courage and a deep connection between body and mind. It reflects on how traditions passed down through generations can continue to hold meaning in a rapidly changing world. By looking beyond the physical techniques of Kalaripayattu, the talk invites us to recognise the values, identity and wisdom embedded within our heritage, and to consider how preserving the past can also shape the way we become in the future. Aaryasree A A is a 17-year-old student of Humanities, youth speaker, writer, and accomplished leader from India. A decorated Model United Nations delegate and debater, she is passionate about geopolitics, with a particular interest in economics and global affairs. Beyond the debate floor, Aaryasree expresses her ideas through poetry and creative writing, using words to inspire reflection and meaningful dialogue. Driven by curiosity and a global outlook, she believes that informed conversations and diverse perspectives have the power to shape a more thoughtful and connected world.
