Why the Most Experienced Voices Remain Invisible | Reim El Houni | TEDxJumeirahBeachPark

This talk explores why many of the most experienced voices remain invisible in a world that rewards visibility. Not because they lack expertise, but because of the limiting beliefs, fear of judgment, and internal narratives that hold them back. Drawing on 25 years as an Executive Producer shaping how the world sees others, Reim shares the paradox of building visibility at the highest level while remaining unseen in her own life, and what that reveals about how credibility is formed today. As the creator economy becomes increasingly driven by attention, a critical gap is emerging. Those with the deepest experience are often the least visible. Reim El Houni is a CEO, award-winning Executive Producer, and visibility strategist with over 25 years of experience shaping how stories are told across broadcast, branded content, and large-scale productions. She has worked with global and regional platforms including the BBC, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, Times of India, and OSN, as well as leading UAE government entities. She has led and executive produced flagship TV shows and major live broadcasts, including Expo 2020 and Dubai One’s DXB Today. Alongside her production work, she helps leaders and organizations step into the spotlight through media training, storytelling, and strategy. A recipient of awards from the New York Festivals and Cannes, She is recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business and advocates for using media to amplify credible voices and ideas. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
