Drawing on his own experience leaving medicine for a startup, then returning to it by choice, Jerzen explores what it means to live deliberately in a world that rewards momentum over reflection. The talk offers a framework for recognising when you're on autopilot, and what it looks like to take the wheel. Because a life chosen — even an imperfect one — is worth more than a life simply continued. Jerzen is a doctor who took the long way around. After graduating from medical school, he traded the wards for a healthcare startup in Dubai — then chose medicine again, this time on his own terms. Now pursuing a pediatric residency, he believes the most meaningful choices are the ones we stop making by default.
